The idea

"Oh, help! How will I ever remember all this!" We-the makers of these coaching cards-have heard this exclamation repeatedly from participants of our courses on the theme of communication, interview skills, coaching-on-the-job, coaching skills, conducting staff interviews, and so on.

The answer then, of course, is "You don't have to remember all that either. That's not the point. By practising, doing, reflecting and practising again, doing again, etc., you will naturally master it and develop your own style as a coach."
"Yes, I understand all that and I could have thought of that myself," said a persistent course participant. "But still I want something where everything is neatly lined up, something you can easily grab, where you can look something like that up without any difficult hassle. Practical mnemonics, in other words."
He received tremendous support from the other trainees and so the idea for these coaching cards was born.

By COACHING we mean
Direct coaching with the aim of improving and renewing professionalism and competence, particularly through self-reflection and feedback in a process-based approach. The person being coached is always referred to as the CLIENT.

For whom.

For anyone conducting 1-to-1 conversations in the role of coach/mentor. We have chosen to use the term coach throughout, but this can also include the following persons/functions: supervisor in general, mentor, teacher, supervisor, counsellor, human resources officer, head of department, social worker, career counsellor, etc.
These coaching cards can be used by people who have been working as coaches for a long time or are in the process of learning the profession.

How to use.
There are three categories with three different colours:
1. Red: Communication cards on the theme of conversation (theoretical mnemonics?)
2. Blue: Fit-in cards themed on reflection, contemplation, confusion, metaposition and fantasy
3. Yellow: Energy cards with the theme of caring for the coach's energy levels. Recharge energy before a conversation and discharge it after a conversation, as well as for monitoring and adjustment during conversations.
